  •  Uses clear evidence:
  • quotes and paraphrases (and citations). And decides WISELY which to use. 
 
  • No clear evidence (vague references to the text).
  •  
 
Analysis 
  • Close reading that finds deeper meaning in teh text (used as evidence).  
  • Analysis is the majority of the paper. 
  • All supports the thesis. 
  • Has one sentence of analysis for every quote. 
  • Summarizes.
